The circus had finally made it to D.C. Everyone was unpacking and setting up the tents. They had a big show to plan for tomorrow night. And Isabella had some picture taking to do.
"Alright everyone! Are you ready for your close-ups?" she asked. Of course, everyone was excited. As promised, her pal Stefano was going first.
"I'm ready when you are!" he shouted getting into the cannon that was set up for his picture. Isabella giggled and got her camera ready.
"Ok, and one
three!" She snapped the picture. "Perfect! And I'm guessing Marty will want a similar shot as well, right?"
"How did you guess?" he laughed. She laughed with him.
"Ok, you're all done! Wanna come look?"
"Of course!" He moved over to her camera and looked at his picture! "Ay, it's fantastico!"
"Well, I'm glad you like it!" she smiled at him. After that, the rest of the animals came to get their pictures taken. They all thought Isabella was a phenomenal photographer.
"Ok, Alex. I'll have this poster ready by tomorrow night for the show!" she told him once the photo taking was finished.
"That's great! I can't wait to see it!" he answered happily.
"Well, goodnight Alex. See you tomorrow night."
"Alrighty, night night!" He went into his tent. As he left, she was making the finishing touches on the poster. Another thing about Isabella is that she was always quick with her work, and it would always turn out as a success. When she was finished, she took one final look. She was very proud of her masterpiece. And she hoped the other animals would like it, too.
Then, Isabella decided to go and visit Stefano again, like she does every night. She walked in and was greeted with a smile on Stefano's face.
"Ah, Signorina! I had a feeling you would show up. So, is it finished?"
"You bet it is! It'll take a little while to finish drying, but it's all done!"
"Fantastico! I can't wait to see it!"
"Well, that's good to hear!"
"Um, you know, I've been wondering. Is there anything else you do besides taking pictures?"
She froze for a moment. "Uh, why do you ask?" she said nervously.
"Oh, no reason, just wondering."
"Come on, spit it out! You know you want to!" he said encouragingly.
"Ok, ok, my hidden talent is
I can sing."
"Really!? Can I hear it!?"
"Well, uh, the thing is I've never really sang in front of anyone before."
"It'll be ok. It's just me. Go on, give it a go!"
"Well, ok." She paused for a moment to think of a song to sing. And then it came to her.
"I'm so tired of being here
Suppressed by all my, childish fears
And if you have to leave
I wish that you would just leave
'Cause your presence still lingers here
And it won't leave me alone
These wounds won't seem to heal
This pain is just too real
There's just too much that time cannot erase
When you cried I'd wipe away all of your tears
When you'd scream I'd fight away all of your fears
And I held your hand through all of these years
But you still have
all of me"
Stefano's eyes grew wide as she sang. He had never heard a voice like hers before. When she finished, he said, "Wow! You have the most beautiful singing voice, Signorina."
"Why, thank you!" she said with a smile.
"You should sing for everyone else! Maybe Alex could consider you for an act in the show!"
"You really think he would?"
"With a voice like yours, I'm sure he wouldn't say no!"
"Well, if you insist! But, can it wait till maybe tomorrow night? I'm pretty sure everybody is asleep by now."
"Of course! You know, I should probably get some sleep, too. I have to practice in the morning."
"Alrighty, I guess I'll say goodnight then."
"Sweet dreams, Signorina."
"You too, Stefano." She left his tent and headed towards her own. She realized that he was the very first person she ever sang to. And she actually felt good about! Maybe singing in front of people wasn't so bad after all.
